SITASIMAMA MAOVU YAKITAWALA

I happened to have listened and hitherto watched Juliani's symphony; utawala. This is a song that was produced in 2014 to lament and critique the poor governance streak that had rocked the country. It came at a time when corruption had soared to the zenith. When Kenyans were living in deplorable conditions. When Injustices were being meted upon the citizenry without measure. Juliani stood up against those atrocities.
Four years later, Kenya is still the same. Money laundering in government parastatals has not changed a bit. As a matter of fact, its worse now. Corruption still lurks within us. Sadly, it has even eaten deep into our social protectors;agencies and bodies that we're supposed to look up to in the condemnation of such. Parliament, City Hall and Kenya Power are just but a few of the quotable victims.
The people of Kenya are suffering in the vicinity of leaders whose sole bother is how and when to enrich themselves! Abomination! People die under evitable circumstances and the government can only but sit back and watch. What has befallen us? Who has bewitched us? Humanity has completely faded from our hearts. We only are worth of a beast's status.
Crime happens daily. Illegal importation of unauthenticated sugar for instance, which serves to kill our local industries. Three months into the unearthing of this, still nobody has been found culpable. Commissions are set up but 'kitu kidogo' always has it's way of compromising reality.
Solai dam owners, under whose watch 47 innocent Kenyans grimly died, are still inhaling the air of freedom while the victims languish in  disquietude. Death by deliberate action;murder. And yet investigative agencies fail to prosecute such abominators. I ask, who has bewitched us?
Kenyans all over the country are wading in unprecedented poverty when resources are available in ample measures. Oil mining in Turkana is yet to bear essence to the locals because inconsiderate leaders grab the chunk for themselves. In the tea sector, the situation is synonymous. Poor pay irregardless of the great efforts input. Hardwork has  lost its symbolic value. I mean, why toil and sweat, only for some tumbocrat to come and swindle you off your accruements?
It has come a time when we ought to question our morals; especially those of whom claim to be leaders. Every election  cycle, we're enticed into electing compulsive looters to government, only to our own detriment. Let us be ready to pay the price for justice!
Like Juliani, I have resolved that sitasimama maovu yakitawala. Let's all speak up against poor governance and bliss shall be ours to avidly enjoy.
